Library Outreach

Library Bookmobile
Recognizing the importance of accessible information and technological resources for all its citizens, the Joeten-Kiyu Public Library has implemented an innovative outreach program: the Bookmobile. This mobile mini-library operates on a weekly schedule, diligently visiting various remote communities dispersed across the island of Saipan. Its primary mission is to deliver crucial and complimentary public library services directly to residents who may face geographical barriers in accessing traditional library facilities. Furthermore, the Bookmobile serves as a vital conduit for I.C.T. (Information, Communications, Technology) Access, bridging the digital divide and empowering individuals with essential technological skills and connectivity.
It is important to understand that the Bookmobile program is designed to complement, rather than substitute, the established infrastructure of traditional library services. Instead, it functions as a dynamic and flexible alternative outreach mechanism, proactively reaching out to the community and providing essential support where it is needed most. This initiative underscores a commitment to inclusivity and ensuring that all residents of Saipan have equitable opportunities to engage with literature, information, and the rapidly evolving world of technology. The Bookmobile embodies a proactive approach to community engagement, bringing the benefits of a library and technology access directly to the doorsteps of remote populations.
