Joeten-Kiyu Public Library Thanks First Lady Wella Palacios for Supporting the 2025 Summer Reading Program

News

[Saipan, MP] — We are thrilled to express our deepest gratitude to the CNMI First Lady Wella Palacios for her unwavering support of the Joeten-Kiyu Public Library’s Annual Summer Reading Program. Her dedication to promoting literacy and encouraging children to explore the joy of reading has made a significant impact on our community.

“The First Lady’s involvement has brought invaluable attention to our program. Her enthusiasm and passion for education have inspired countless young readers to discover new worlds through books. The First Lady Wella Palacios’ commitment to our Summer Reading Program has been truly remarkable,” said Library Director Erlinda C. Naputi.

We are incredibly grateful for her support and look forward to continuing our work together to empower young minds through literacy. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the First Lady Wella Palacios for her dedication to our mission and her belief in the power of reading to transform lives.

Last year, Team JKPL served 1,679 early literacy, children, teens, and adults through our summer reading programs at the Joeten-Kiyu Public Library, Fernando M. Benavente Memorial Library, Tinian Public Library, and Antonio C. Atalig Memorial Library, Bookmobiles, and Technology Mobile Express. Every contribution from our community helps us continue to provide valuable library programs, services, and resources for everyone in need.

The Summer Reading Program aims to prevent summer learning loss and foster a lifelong love of reading among children of all ages. Through a variety of activities, including special guest presenters book clubs, author visits, and creative workshops, we strive to make reading an enjoyable and enriching experience for every participant.
